This story is dedicated to my transgender partners. These are exaggerated events in a fictional science fiction setting, but let me be absolutely clear, everyone has the right to live their lives free from prejudice and abuse. The characters are inspired by people I have known, but the types of abuse and mistreatment they have suffered is absolutely not an exaggeration, even by family. 
 
Everyone has the right to decide how they want to be and how they want to present themselves to society regardless of why those feelings arise. Trauma might well be the instigating factor for this character but trauma or mental illness does not in any way invalidate the need for self determination and self expression. My work deals with adult themes and is based on real feelings, dark parts of humanity like sex, trauma, abuse and drug use but I will never allow it to be used by anyone to discriminate or put down any other person. Those that have suffered from abuse and trauma need our love, our support and the freedom to self identify and express themselves however they choose. 
 
Furthermore, I support everyone's right to control their own biological density up to including modifying their genome. They are our bodies, our genes and our minds, no one has the right to control you or tell you what you can or cannot do with your own body and mind. 
 
Cyberpunk has always been about radical self expression and freedom, this one goes out to you my transgender sisters and the terrible curse of methamphetamine addiction in the community.
