Welcome to Archetopia the world of archetypes! Join "The Way of Harmony" and learn of the struggles against "The Shadow"
“This is the mother-love which is one of the most moving and unforgettable memories of our lives, the mysterious root of all growth and change; the love that means homecoming, shelter, and the long silence from which everything begins and in which everything ends.”
Carl Jung, Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious
The mother in her fullness, Astriarlaissas “Lightguide” adult silver dragon
Gather round little ones, yes that’s it, great, ok make space for your little sister please.
Lovely. Ok lets quiet down now. Say it with me,
“Wings folded, claws on laps”
“Wings folded claws on laps”
Came back a sort of enthusiastic murmur from the five silver dragon children. Three were her hatchlings and two more slightly older ones, her sisters, great Yi’O take her soul to be with the stars.
“Ok little ones, are we ready to begin?”
Again a slightly fidgety grumble especially from the two older ones, Arlendar and Miira. She sensed their energy by intuition alone. Guiding with her own.
“Come on little ones, it’s story time! I can’t hear you.”
A little wave of a claw and a dash of illusion magic and a rainbow bridge opened up, a portal to a different world, the story world, she leaned in as if listening.
The two older ones stopped fidgeting at the sight of her magic.
They all grinned and there was happy chatter. A little of mothers magic could always change the room. Lightguide was a master of illusion magic, not to deceive or control, but to guide, to allow the energy in others to flow. Her empathy, her superhuman senses and awareness, combined with her subtle sorcery made it feel like your own heart’s light was being encouraged when you spoke to her. The dreams you dare not have brought to light, the best version of you, you hadn’t even had the wisdom yet to see. She saw the light in others.
“Story time! Yeah.”
“Great, great.”
She smiled a knowing smile as she paused to let the room settle in a warm and loving silence. They were all spellbound and no enchantments were needed at all. They never were with her.
“I have something special for you all today. These are fun stories but also they carry hidden meanings, I won’t tell you right away but will let you ponder in your own time. A wise sage in the east (where Mummy went to work after university) once told me:
“If I show you one corner and you can’t show me the other three, I’ll say nothing more.”
We can all enjoy the fun stories together, but if you are curious and want to learn more, just ask Mummy ok?”
They nodded along, Miira in particular, her sister’s oldest, looked curious.
“Ok Mummy’s stories are as old as time and flow with the collected dreams, visions and thoughts of all beings. The characters can change little ones, but the archetypes, oh that is a big word, the forms, the ideas behind the characters, they stay the same, radiating with mystic power that form minds and shape destinies. And, this little ones, is Mummy’s deepest, oldest and most powerful magic.”
“More powerful than your spells, your illusions?”
The oldest boy spoke up, challenging with curiosity.
“Oh yes brave Arlendar, so much more. Illusions can give delight but hurt not, they are but noises and sweet airs. This is the deepest of magics. The root of souls. Fail to learn these lessons and great harms can fall upon you, the harms of the uncontrolled Shadow.”
They all looked at each other nervously, even the older ones. They had heard of the Shadow, the darkness that lived inside each person, even Silver dragons, always ready to strike, to whisper its dark words to lead you astray from the path.
“But learn well these stories, not the words little ones, but the meanings of the magic and you will never fear the Shadow again. For the path of harmony is stronger than any darkness. Fear and ego shall have no place to take root in your hearts. Master these tales and any darkness therein, shall be such that you can smile at it, play with it, dance with it even, so harmless it shall then be!”
All the young dragons were leaning in, still, listening to the great mothers every word.
“A long time ago in a kingdom far far away there lived…”
