I just want to leave a real quick note to say how happy and appreciative I am for all the amazing work that Jesús Santana continues to produce for the website and to go alongside the digital releases of the short stories.
This is a full comic book style splash page for the short story Bliss. Its also the first image he has done of Stella, who features heavily in this story and also appears as a minor character in the upcoming novel.
Stella takes partial inspiration from Da Ji the demon fox spirit from classical Chinese mythology (I flipped her from a sadist to a masochist, but I can assure you she is just as cunning and dangerous). So in addition to the fox like features, she also has a very striking form of the SGIA infection, the shape of a Venetian mask. As CJ says at one point in the upcoming novel:
"Even her flaws are perfect!"
Shes just as haunting and beautiful as I had imagined her. Again its a great privilege to have these characters from my mind come to life upon the page.
