Dr Ling Xi, quoting Iron Man in her team meeting

Dr Ling Xi's two stories are now complete and available for digital download.

They run in timeline order so please do read them in order to avoid spoilers:

Ling Xi is probably the closest to a superhero in terms of characters I have written so far. The coding cat is a truly exceptional human being. She is a cross-fit champ, 147 IQ, single mom, head of engineering at a leading tech firm and academic super star. She is my female iron man, and comes with some of the same issues of ego and grandiosity filtered through a female and Chinese lens, but of course she lives in a much, much darker world.

I don't want to spoil her journey and transformation but she is not afraid to step into the darkness, even when most minds should be afraid.

Lovecraft always used intelligent, academic and educated protagonists. His characters were not the screaming high school girls of later American horror, these were men of science. They had a firm foundation on reality and the tools of discipline and inquiry to face the terrors. The intelligent, self aware, effective and grounded protagonist that still went insane in the face of cosmic horror always landed more effectively with me.

This lady is an order of magnitude beyond any of Lovecraft's male protagonists (which she could show you on an evidence based personality chart with Bayesian credible intervals), can she survive a journey into the depths of madness?
